New Boots Opticians in Lymington welcomes 200 customers in opening week

Boots Opticians has welcomed over 200 customers since opening two weeks ago in Lymington.

The Lymington store is the franchise Wessex Optical’s sixth store and has created 11 new jobs.

The store will provide;

  • Eye tests
  • Contact lens fitting
  • Aftercare appointments
  • Audiology services with a dedicated hearing care room

Zabir Ali, Founder and Owner of Wessex Optical, said: “Our first two weeks of trading have been fabulous. Customers’ reactions and feedback about the environment, the technology and care given by colleagues has been amazing.”

Ali aims to play a crucial part in the Lymington community and hopes Boots Opticians’ vital service will alleviate health service pressures.

“We are excited to expand into Lymington and we’d like to thank the people of this beautiful historical town for extending the warmest welcome to the team.”

Zabir Ali, Wessex Optical

“By investing in the latest optical testing, diagnostic and treatment technologies, we hope to do much more for people here than perhaps they expect from their local opticians, ensuring any issues can be picked up at the earliest opportunity.

“With NHS services still in recovery mode post-pandemic, offering alternative specialist services on our high streets is not only providing a vital service to communities but also alleviating pressure on the health service.”

The 4,000 square foot retail store holds a wide range of eyewear including high fashion and designer frames brands including Gucci, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo and Kate Spade.

The practice was supported by £500,000 funding from Lloyds bank and is forecast to turnover £2.5m a year.

Wessex Optical employs 80 staff across six branches across Hampshire and Dorset.

The Boots Opticians store is open seven days a week on 52D High Street, Lymington.
