‘Walk and Work’ – the new business networking

New business networking events Walk and Work launched in March and 12-20 local business owners meet whilst walking in the New Forest.

Event organiser Alice Smee said: “I recognised how people are reluctant to meet indoors, and a much healthier option is to walk and work together in the fresh air.

“I saw big networking groups in Southampton and Bournemouth but little in between for the New Forest.

“The need to network is more important than ever nowadays, so I felt this is a great way to combine both requirements.”

“I make sure businesses with an obvious synergy make contact with each other.”

Alice Smee, Walk and Work organiser

Working in hospitality sales and marketing for over 40 years, Smee is a “seasoned networker” regularly offering advice to event newcomers.

She encourages shy guests to approach others and connects businesses with “obvious synergy” to make contact.

Earlier in 2022, Smee won the Employee of the Year award at the Christchurch Business Awards for her role with Hoburne Parks and Golf Clubs.

The next Walk and Work event is November 01 at 9.30am beginning at The Haven Bar and Restaurant, Lymington.

Tickets are £15 and include a hot beverage and treat after the walk.
