Children of the Waterside area woke up to a surprise this morning when their elves appeared for the season with festive treats.
The Elf on the Shelf viral trend sees elves reporting children’s behaviour back to Santa and each night finding a new, and naughty, spot to be found the next morning.
Beaky Blinders designed a dairy, gluten and soya-free treat box for local elves which sold out within hours of launching in November.
Nat and Em, owners of Beaky Blinders, said: “The idea behind the Elf on the Shelf boxes was that we know allergies and intolerances are on the rise, and we know all too well how it feels to be the odd one out because there is nothing you can have.”

Since launching in 2021, Beaky Blinders based in Hythe is a completely gluten, dairy and soya-free kitchen.
“We are both gluten and dairy-intolerant and always found it hard to find things that are both gluten and dairy free, they are usually one or the other.
“We wanted to give people the sense of normality so they don’t miss out or feel left out, because why should they have to?”
“You’re never too old to do Elf on the Shelf!”

“We love making these boxes as it’s not specifically just for children. You’re never too old to do Elf on the Shelf. But it also gives parents the first day of Elf sorted!
“We can’t even begin to express how thankful we are to our customers who have shown so much love and support for us, we really have met some of the most beautiful people and without them, we couldn’t do what we do!”
Beaky Blinders supply treats to Number 15 cafe in Hythe and Tinkers Grandaughter in Lymington, and regularly attend Lymington Market and other festivals.
