Chocolate by Miss Witt has delivered the last of 50 unused vouchers sold before the global pandemic and shares how Covid can leave a long-lasting impact on business.
The 50 unused vouchers from 2020, worth £50 to £100 each, were all honoured leaving the company less space to create new revenue opportunities.
To ensure adequate income was coming into the business, each chocolate workshop would have a maximum of 20% attendees using older vouchers, leaving 80% as new bookings.
Kerry Witt says: “Every time we tried to book in customers with these vouchers there was a lockdown, a family member had Covid, or we weren’t allowed to mix without other households.”
Witt is thankful her business is still open and believes the global pandemic has had a damaging impact on many businesses.
“For the sake of my brand’s reputation, I felt it was important that customers got what they paid for when they had bought from me in good faith.”
Never giving in is a key lesson Witt has learned from her business surviving the pandemic.
“Reach out to contacts and always look to the future. After all, it really can’t be any worse!”
Exploring new markets including corporate events has led Chocolate by Miss Witt to design new product packaging and reevaluate products and services.
“You have to think outside the box! Your business is only as good as its growth and innovation.”
