New Forest Show success and the Duchess of Cornwall thanks volunteers

The New Forest and Hampshire County Show has returned with crowds of visitors over the spectacular three-day event at New Park, Brockenhurst.

Shows in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic and this year’s show promised popular equestrian events, livestock competitions, family entertainment, and local food and produce, as well as new shows and activities.

The event is supported by 500 volunteers and over 90,000 visitors were expected over the three days.

“I should like to thank everyone who has been involved in creating and putting on this year’s Show, particularly the army of 500 volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible.”

The Duchess of Cornwall, President of The New Forest and Hampshire County Show 2022

President of this year’s event, the Duchess of Cornwall, said: “I should like to thank everyone who has been involved in creating and putting on this year’s Show, particularly the army of 500 volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible.”

Fortunately for visitors, temperatures had lowered since the record-breaking heatwave a week prior to the show.

Social media was filled with visitors, sponsors and exhibitors enjoying the show.

New Forest District Council were thrilled to win the show’s Best Large Trade Stand award this year.

The show was supported by local businesses exhibiting including; The New Forest Hare, The New Forest Marque, Beachcomber Gin ltd, Westbeans Tree Care ltd, Delbie ltd, The New Forest Tartan Company, New Forest Mohair, Hampshire Fare CIC, New Forest Shortbread, The Gourmet Grilled Cheese Company, Rosie Lea Bakery, New Forest Tea Company, Forest Edge Roasting Co, Christopher Hoare Tree Services, and 820 Spirits ltd.

The New Forest and Hampshire County Show is set to take place next year from 25-27 July 2023.

The show helps raise funds to support the New Forest Agricultural Show Society and other local and national charitable organisations.
